Scheduled Lifestyle:-

The objective of life is to conserve the good health for a long life. A good life sustains over three genuine practice i.e. Ahar(food), nidra(sleep)and anand(brahmacharya/abrahmacharya)(bliss). In other words we can say a good health is dependent on ahar (food),bi-har(lifestyle)and achar(behavioural practice). In other page we have discussed about ahar/dietary regimen.

Through food we gather the solar energy in a condensed form. Sun is the source of all energy. Through sleep we conserve energy. Moon is the authority that helps to conserve energy. A regulated lifestyle that includes all physical activity and sleep can conserve a good health and give a long life.

Discussion:-

One day is 24 hrs.According to Ayurveda and Indian astronomy one day is divided into
8 prahara. Each prahara is divided into 3 hrs or 4 ghadi.

·From 6 am to 9 am the time is called the first prahara of the day.

·From 9 am to 12 noon is called the second prahara of the day.

·12 noon is the mid day, where the sun remains over the head. This is the time when the
sun is more powerful in a day.During this time we are used to take lunch, the prime
mill of the day

·From 6 pm to 9 pm the time period is the first prahara of the night.

·From 9 pm to 12 mid night is the second prahara of the night. This is the
mid night when the moon remains over the head. This is the time
when we have deepest sleep. The sleep travels. So we should
go to bed at the end of the first prahara (9 pm)to attain the
deepest sleep at mid night (second prahara of the night).

When we sleep almost all of our organs except heart, lungs and brain slowdown their normal
physiology.Accordingly the digestive system slows down. That is why we should take light dinner
in between 6 pm to 7 pm so that food can be digested before 9 pm and we can go to bed in light stomach

Sun is the source of all energy.Whatever food we take that
is nothing but a condensed form of solar energy.Through
food we gather energy.Sun is the authority of supplying
energy.Through sleep we conserve energy.Moon is the
authority of conservation of energy.A day sleep will interfere
into the continuation of energy supplement.A late night
bed or a sleepless night will interfere into the energy conservation.

The universe is monitored by the sun,the moon and wind. Our body is monitored by 3 active
principles called Vata,Pitta and Kapha. We can say there is a universe living inside our body
and equilibrium between two universes i.e.inside the body and outside the body can give us a
good health.

Your Ayurvedic journey begins and ends with one on one consultations with our specilists that guide you to the path of good health.

Ayurvedic and Wellness Consultation

The Ayurvedic consultation explores your physical, mental and emotional health to help you understand your unique energetic constitution or combination of Doshas (the three dynamic living forces) that determines your body type and your current imbalances. The Ayurvedic physician then prepares a sequence of experiences and a programme of diet and exercise according to your body type that will help bring more balance, energy and peace to your entire being.

Ayurvedic Lifestyle Recommendation

Ayurveda promotes a lifestyle that is in harmony with Mother Nature. In this Consultation, the benefits of the experiences, diet and exercise programme during your stay are evaluated. The Ayurvedic physician then gives you the tips and take-home information on your lifestyle and dietary changes that will bring balance into your daily life so that your continuing commitment to your wellbeing can bring you back to a state of vibrant health and radiance.

AYURVEDIC TRI-DOSHA THEORY

According to Ayurveda, the universe is made of five primordial elements, namely earth, air, fire, water and ether. These elements themselves are inanimate, but in combination, give rise to three main biological forces or principles in the human body, called doshas – , and, as every human being has a different balance of elements, one dosha is typically predominant in our constitution and ascertains our personality.

The Tridosha Theory

When the five eternal substances – space, air, fire, water and earth combine to form the human body, they do so by creating three vital energies, or doshas. These are the forces that govern all psycho-physiological functions in the body and mind respectively. They construct the body and serve to maintain it in a dynamic state of health. However, when these vital forces are aggravated, due to improper gross or subtle factors, the body- mind connection begins to suffer and the disease process begins.

Vata

It is the most powerful among the doshas. Formed by the interaction of space and air, Vata is movement, the body in motion. Warm food, moderately heavy textures, added butter and fat; salt, sour, and sweet tastes; soothing and satisfying foods, All are good for settling the disturbed Vata. Use food such as: warm milk, cream, butter, warm soups, stews, and hot cereals, fresh baked.

Pitta

Formed by the interaction of fire and water…the polarity of these two elements plays an important role for Pitta, which regulates the body metabolism and transformations in the body’s form. Cool or warm but not steaming hot foods; bitter, sweet, and astringent tastes, are what are perfect for this body type. Take cool, refreshing food in summer. Reduce the consumption of salt, oil and spices, all of which are “heating” to the body. Salads are good, so is milk and ice cream.

kapha

It is formed by the structural properties of earth, with water in its role as a lubricant to different tissues of the body, which also aids strength and adds stamina to the body. Warm light food, dry food, cooked without much water, minimum of butter, oil and sugar are recommended for this body type. Stimulating foods with pungent, bitter and astringent tastes and deep fried foods are best avoided. Eat lightly cooked foods or raw fruits and vegetables. ‘Eat’ spicy, bitter and astringent foods. Watch out for eating that little bit extra, a typical Kapha tendency.
